NOTICE OF NEW BILLING STATEMENT AND FEATURES

Dear Valued Customer,

We are excited to share with you some new enhancements we have made to your bill. With this upgrade, you will notice a change to the format of the bill you receive for SCMA services. While the design has changed, all the same billing details you are accustomed to are still provided, plus we’ve added some new features to better serve you. Here are some of the highlights:

 

GENERAL FORMAT CHANGES

The new bill format offers customers a more user friendly invoice and provides additional detail on services provided, such as water consumption, a record of all transactions, and a larger message area for important notifications. The new statement will also combine your water and wastewater account, if applicable, using your water account number.

 

NEW BILLING FEATURES

  • Electronic Billing Services
    If you prefer, you can opt to receive your billing statement electronically via email rather than receiving a paper bill in the mail. You can enroll by completing the form on the back of your invoice and returning it with your payment. The electronic bill will contain the same information as the paper bill. This new feature is free and will avoid unpredictable mailing delays that can prevent timely receipt of your bill.
  • Automatic Payments
    SCMA offers the use of Automatic Draft for payment. This option automatically deducts your payment from your checking account on the due date or last business day before the payment due date. You can enroll by completing the form on the back of your invoice and returning it with your payment. This feature is free and will avoid late payments and additional fees. Over 2,000 SCMA customers currently use this method of payment.
  • Online Payments or Payments by Phone
    SCMA offers online payment via our website at www.scmawater.com, by clicking on the Online Bill Payment link on the left side of the homepage. To pay online, you will be required to create a new user profile (even if you’ve previsouly paid online and had a profile) using the CID# assigned to your account and listed on your invoice. SCMA also offers payments by phone at 1-888-387-9451. Again, you will need the CID# on front of invoice when paying through the 888 number. Both the online payment and payment by phone options allow you to pay electronically with a credit card or your bank account.

    • Residential Accounts – A fee of $2.50, on a maximum payment amount of $500, will be applied to each online payment or payment by phone transaction. Please see the back of your invoice for more details on these payment options.
    • Commercial, Industrial, and Public Accounts – A fee of 2.75% of payment amount, with no amount limitation, will be applied to each online payment or payment by phone transaction. Please see the back of your invoice for more details on these payment options.

In order to ensure that we continue to provide you with important customer notifications, please provide us with updated account information, including mailing address, phone number and email address.
