    • The Schuylkill County Municipal Authority is currently accepting applications for the following positions:

  • Laborer/Equipment Operator – Distribution/Collection Division

SCMA is seeking motivated applicants with experience in operation of backhoe, excavator, dump truck, vacuum pump truck, sewer/water jetting equipment, tapping equipment and/or other industry related equipment. Qualified applicants must possess a High School Diploma, valid PA Driver’s License and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the utility pipeline construction and maintenance field.  Class B CDL and traffic control experience are preferred. Also looking for experienced laborers who are safety oriented, self-motivated, and display a positive attitude. These positions require on-call duties.


  • Payroll/HR Personnel – Office Division

SCMA is seeking a motivated person to process weekly payroll and administer certain Human Resources functions. Applicants should have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience processing all steps of payroll up to and including the issuing of W-2’s and completing quarterly payroll tax returns. Applicants should also have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience processing basic HR functions.  Accounting aptitude, strong computer and communication skills are a must. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.


  • Environmental Manager – Operations Management Division

SCMA is currently accepting applications for the position of Environmental/Water Quality Manager.  Qualified applicants should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or closely related field; a minimum of five (5) years of qualified experience in the science of water quality, interpretation of regulations and Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS); a current or the ability to obtain a PA Certified Water and/or Wastewater Operator License.  Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, coordination with the Operations Manager and Engineer; overall management of the Authority’s Water and Wastewater Divisions including six (6) Water Treatment Plants, five (5) Wastewater Treatment Plants, multiple pumping stations and appurtenances; management of all Regulatory and Environmental compliance for the Authority’s Water and Wastewater Divisions. Applicant must possess a valid PA Driver’s License.  This positions requires after-hour, weekend, holiday, and on-call duties.
