Wastewater Operator – Wastewater Division
SCMA is seeking motivated applicants wishing to pursue a career in the Wastewater Treatment Industry. Qualified applicants must possess a High School Diploma and valid PA Driver’s License. Applicants should also have or be capable of obtaining a valid PA DEP Wastewater Operator license. Mechanical aptitude, strong communication skills, computer literacy, and education in a science related field are preferred. The successful candidate must demonstrate the skills to work in a team environment as well as an independent setting. This position requires rotating weekend, holiday, and on-call duties.

Wastewater Collection Operator – Wastewater Division
SCMA is seeking motivated applicants with experience in the operation and maintenance of sanitary sewer collection and pumping stations, individual customer grinder pumps, mechanical/electrical/control troubleshooting and repair, sewer jetting equipment, and/or other industry related equipment. Qualified applicants must possess a High School Diploma and a valid PA Driver’s License. PADEP Certified Wastewater License and experience in the wastewater maintenance field are preferred. Successful candidates must be safety oriented, self-motivated, and display a positive attitude. These positions require on-call duties.

Laborer / Utility / Equipment Operator – Distribution & Collection Division
SCMA is seeking motivated applicants with experience in operation of the following equipment – backhoe, excavator, dump truck, sewer/water jetting equipment, tapping equipment and/or other industry related equipment. Qualified applicants must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, valid PA Driver’s License and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the utility pipeline construction and maintenance field or equivalent. Must be safety oriented, self-motivated and display a positive mindset. Class B CDL and traffic control experience are preferred. These positions require on-call duties. Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.

Meter Technician – Distribution and Collection Division
A successful Meter Technician will have mechanical aptitude, strong communication skills, computer literacy, and education in a related field.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Installation, removal, tracking, and reading of water meters and radio read boxes throughout SCMA’s system.
- Shut off and turn on water service to SCMA customers.
- In coordination with the billing clerk, the collection of water meter data to enable SCMA to bill for water usage.
- In coordination with the collections department, the posting of delinquent notices on properties.
- In coordination with the Office Manager, consultations with commercial and industrial customers on replacement of water meters 1” or greater in size.
Qualified applicants must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid PA Driver’s License. Experience with water meter installation, plumbing and related technical fields is preferred. The Authority is willing to train qualified candidates. Successful candidates must be safety oriented, self-motivated and have a positive mindset. These positions require on-call duties. Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
