Customer Service & AR Payments Representative

Under the direction of the Office Manager, this position is responsible to resolve customer’s problems at the front desk, the processing of payments made at the front desk, the handling of customer phone calls, and the processing of payments received in the mail and through the web-based credit card system.

Essential Job Functions:

  • This position under the direction of the Office Manager resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customer’s complaint, determining the cause of the problem, selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem, expediting correction or adjustment by creating work orders when appropriate, and following up to ensure resolution.
  • This position greets customers, accepts, and processes their payments made at the front desk.
  • This position when not waiting on a customer answers SCMA’s phone. This position under the direction of the Office Manager resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customer’s complaint, determining the cause of the problem, selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem, expediting correction or adjustment, and following up to ensure resolution.
  • This position opens payments received through the mail and then applies them to customers’ accounts in the Muni-Link software.
  • This person goes into the customer portal daily to process the ACH payments received for the current day creating a batch that is send to bank for processing and posted to customers’ accounts in Muni-Link.
  • This position checks several times a day for payments received through web-based credit card system and then applies them to customers’ accounts in the Muni-Link software.
  • This position at the end of each day will create a deposit ticket for all cash receipts received that day. As part of this process will create multiply deposit ticket so not to have more than 99 checks on any one deposit ticket.
  • This position at the end of each day will reconcile payments applied software to actual deposit to ensure accuracy.
  • This person will make appointments for the meter department and records these on the schedule. This person will print this schedule to distribute daily to the meter department.
  • This person is the back up to representative #2 when it comes to filing completed work orders
  • This person is the backup to representative #2 when it comes to creating a report, by going through the work orders, which indicates all meter installations, meter removals, and changes in EDU that is then give to Greater Pottsville Area Sewer Authority.
  • This person in conjunction with representative #2 when time is available contact customers with old meters to arrange the replacement of that meter.
  • This person is responsible to collect and report information of rainfall and water treatment for the Board of Directors.
